The Needs We Have

I just wanted to write about something someone in my Bible Study mentioned the other night. We have been going over Philippians, and got to a question about Philippains 4:19 - "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

We were discussing what this verse says to each of us, and one member mentioned something very interesting. Salvation is the only need we have as Christians and God has taken care of this need already. All other things are not needs, they are only wants. I ahd never thought of life that way. I know Salvation is the only thing we really need, but I ahve always thought of food, shelter, clothing as needs, but truely they aren't. If I don't have food then I would stare and die, but in having salvation I would be in Heaven, and that would be great. My only need would be fulfilled.
So think about that in your life. Do you have the only thing you need in life? Do you have the salvation that comes in having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?

I would suggest that Christ thought otherwise. He said Do not worry about what you will eat or what you will drink because your Father in heaven knows you NEED these things. Instead, seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be {this is a promise} added unto you.
